Art Consulting Services

What you'll hear most people say in conversation is that "art is subjective".  Often what that means in polite company is that I may like it while you hate it!  In some regards this can be true, but there is a lot more to art than just 'liking' or 'hating' it.

When it comes to your space and your brand, Studio Croft can help you find the right mix that will represent you to your audience.  Are you an established and respected law firm?  A new medical practice? An up-and-coming creative company?  A high-end boutique? Each of these deserve their own unique strategy collecting and displaying art.

Studio Croft starts by assisting the client in determining an appropriate art budget then determines the best strategy to maximize that budget.   When recommending art, I carefully consider different styles, media, scale, placement/location, sight lines, durability, appropriateness of subject, and any evidence based design considerations (especially in healthcare settings).  I work with various price points and can recommend where to add the 'WOW' and where to hold back. If I can't find just the right piece, I can guide clients to artists who can be commissioned to create unique custom pieces to meet the needs of specific projects.

While art is the last thing to be installed on most jobs, it should be planned for from the beginning.  This can mean ensuring that the locations for art are 'protected' and 'fought for' during the design and construction process.  No one likes to find a thermostat where they were planning to install their statement painting!  It can also mean that the correct wall construction is in place for locating large or heavy pieces, that appropriate lighting has been addressed during the design phase and not as an afterthought. Involving an art consultant from the onset of a project is key to a successful installation!
