Camp For All Star Place Opening
The family and I had a great time at the grand opening for Camp For All Star Place! I worked on this project just briefly when I joined the team at Curry Boudreaux Architects. Camp For All, located in Burton, TX, "is a unique, barrier free camp working in partnership with other non-profits to enrich the lives of children and adults with challenging illnesses or special needs and their families throughout the year." (CFA website).
This new building, named Star Place, will provide a location for fun indoor activities when needed and somewhere to shelter-in-place if storms start brewing. It has a stage for awards ceremonies and theatrical productions, with dressing rooms and costume storage. The dressing rooms double as 'spas' for days of pampering and dress-up! There is also an indoor climbing wall and a fully accessible (including wheelchairs) indoor high ropes course. Along the outside of the building, a zip line delivers campers swiftly from a platform to their next destination. I want to go to camp!
