Is Your Home Holiday Ready?
I know what you are thinking… “It’s still summer!” or “I am up to my ears in the craziness of back to school!”
That may be the case, but we all know time passes quickly and the holiday season is not far behind. It may be August, but we are just under 16 weeks away from Thanksgiving. Sixteen weeks may sound like a long time, but the course of a home refresh or renovation project can easily span at least that length of time or more!
If you have had a home project on the back burner but with hopes of completing it by the holidays this year, it’s time to start moving! Let’s talk about what projects can have the biggest impact for welcoming your family and friends and why NOW (in the middle of summer) is the time to prioritize planning and designing for holiday entertaining!
What’s your project?
Whether it is your first year hosting the big family dinner or you are a seasoned pro at throwing the neighborhood Friendsgiving party, there are a range of projects you may be considering to make your home sparkle and shine for entertaining this fall.
What project will make your home more welcoming for family and friends? What updates will ease your workload during the holiday season? Who is coming and where are you going to put all of them to maximize heads in beds?
Your project could be as small as a bathroom renovation project or as whole floor remodel. If any of the following projects are on your list, it is time to start putting the wheels into motion to get your home ready for holiday entertaining.
Guest Suite Room Furniture & Refresh
Living Room Furniture Updates
Living Room or Dining Room Redesign
Powder Bathroom Remodel
Kitchen Renovations with new appliances
Adding a Beverage Station or Home Bar
Game Room Furniture & Refresh
Indoor/ Outdoor Entry Refresh
Outdoor Entertaining Space

Why start now?
The holiday deadline isn’t moving, but there are many other moving parts to home update projects that can cause stress if rushed or pushed to the last minute. Everyone gets busy in the weeks and months leading up to the holidays. Clients, designers and trades people all have full schedules as the end of the year begins to loom on the horizon.
The longer you wait to engage the right professionals for your project, the more likely it is that you can run into scheduling conflicts as the holidays approach. With that comes the risk of not having your project completed on time.
Additionally, if your project includes ordering furniture, custom upholstery or custom window treatments, lead times run from weeks to months. Depending on the place of origin, size of the project, piece or order, you can typically expect anywhere from 8-12 weeks or more, even up to 18-20 weeks in certain cases.
Where to begin?
If you consider that we are about 16 weeks from the start of the holiday season, now is the time to be engage Studio Croft to guide you from project conception (“I have an idea.”) to project completion (“WOW! I’m so glad it’s done and ready for guests!”).
My designer-led “Master Plan” process leads clients on a journey that starts with making the right informed design decisions in the right order, then adds in stunning material and furniture selections, construction support while working with the trades, and culminates in the BIG REVEAL after installing all of the window treatments, furniture, artwork and finishing touches, so that you can start enjoying your home!
My goal as an interior designer is to get clients to 'done' and 'WOW!!!' so that they can start living in their beautifully renovated, fully finished and furnished home and sharing it with those that matter most.
